Welcome to SenseStory.
We are a Preston (Lancashire) based service which provides sensory storytelling sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children.
Sensory play performs a vital role in early childhood development, helping your little one to learn to understand and process their senses, enabling them to engage with and experience the world around them. In addition storytelling has extensive benefits, encouraging reading for pleasure from a young age, which is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success.
Each SenseStory Session is an interactive storytelling experience which encourages the development of sensory communication, social skills, speech and language, and helps foster a love of reading from an early age, all whilst having fun and making magical memories together and giving you ideas which you can use at home.
We consider all 8 of your little one’s sensory systems when developing our sessions (yes you read that right 8):
Enhancing their experience of the story, whilst promoting their sensory, social and self development.
Our sessions are inclusive to all, and can be adapted to meet individual learning, neurodivergent, physical or sensory needs. Please get in touch using our Contact Us page if you have any questions or requirements.
We have the following sessions available for different age groups:
SenseStory Snugglers for babies from newborn to one (and walking) 11am Tuesdays
and
SenseStory Striders for toddlers to pre-school children aged approximately one (and walking) to four years 9:30am Tuesdays
We can also accommodate Siblings at SenseStory, if you have children in different age groups but would like to bring them both to the same session.
Our sessions currently run on Tuesdays in Preston, Lancashire at Woodplumpton and District Club:
