Our SenseStory Striders sessions are developed for those terrific toddler to pre-school years, so from age 1 (and walking) to 4 years.
They take place at 9:30am on a Tuesday (hopefully early enough to avoid interfering with any nap schedule) at Woodplumpton District Club, Preston, Lancashire.
These sessions will feed your little ones curiosity as they are beginning to develop their independence and sense of self. They can explore semi-independently, whilst still remaining close to you as their safe place and strengthening your bond through this special time shared.
At these sessions your little one will be immersed into a different story each week, experiencing this through their senses utilising sound, lights, tactile play, scent, taste, nature materials, movement, messy play, crafts and more as well as through dramatic interaction.
The different elements of the session will be adapted to the developmental stage your little one is at to ensure they (and you) get the best experience possible. This will support their ongoing sensory development whilst encouraging them to contribute to the best of their ability, supporting the development of important social skills such as listening, sharing and turn-taking.
As our older children prepare for their transition to schooling whether that be formal or home-lead education, our Striders sessions will help to lay early foundations in phonics, reading and group work to get them ready for their next step. Sharing this with you will promote their sense of achievement and help boost self-confidence, whilst bonding and making the most of this precious time together.
The sessions will also provide you with a safe space in which to socialise with other parents, care givers and their little ones, which could help you expand your support network, and provide an opportunity for your little one to practice and develop their social skills.
So what are you waiting for, book now!
